EU-ACP ties in question

A joint ministerial council on 23-24 May had been earmarked as the moment for formally concluding the successor to the Cotonou Agreement, governing the next 20 years of relations between the EU and the 79 countries from the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP). But progress has been painfully slow, and few officials believe the deal will be concluded in time to come into force in January 2020 as planned.
