Scotland under siege

In a last-ditch bid to remain secretary-general of the London-based Commonwealth Secretariat, Dominica-born British national Baroness Patricia Scotland of Asthal claims she is being unfairly treated because of her ethnicity. She says the fact that the four 'white Commonwealth' countries – Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK – have all suspended discretionary funding of the secretariat until alleged financial irregularities uncovered by an internal audit have been resolved.
